From Uniontown, Pennsylvania, second-seeded Ave Maria University Gyrenes defeated the seventh-seeded Victory University Eagles in a closely contested game at the USCAA Basketball National Championships.
The Eagles closed a 23-point deficit to come within 2 points, but Ave Maria was able to pull away in the last minutes and secure a 89-76 victory.
Victory was led by Keron Jackson, a senior, who scored 18 points.
The Eagles close out the tournament and face Apprentice University (Newport News, Virginia) tomorrow at 10 a.m. EST. |
